Natural Gas Generators (NG)

Natural gas generators are available in areas that have an underground pipeline fed to their home. No storage tank is required and the units is dependent on the NG supply from your local township. Natural gas units typically are more expensive initially to purchase but cost less to run overtime.

Propane Generators (LP)

Propane generators can be an option for most home backup power needs as they require a tank nearby to store the propane fuel. The propane tank is filled by a local fuel provider and delivered to your home via a fuel truck. They typically carry cheaper upfront costs than a natural gas unit but cost more to run.

Generator Hookups

If you have a portable generator and would like to use it to feed power to your home during a power outage, you can do so if you have a portable generator hookup installed. We can install a plug on the outside of your home that can accommodate a portable generator connection to feed power to your home.

Generator FAQ

We are licensed professionals who install and maintain generators in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

What size backup generator do I need for my home?

The generator that will supply power to your home during a power outage has a minimum generator capacity rating. To get an idea of what your minimum capacity is, you will need to know how much power you are likely to use during a power outage in watts. You can then times the total watts by 1000x to arrive at kilowatts. Your kilowatt rating should then be rounded up by 25% to arrive at a minimum generator capacity. Or you can contact us to help you.

What brand of generators do you offer?

We can install any type of generator but the brands we sell are Honeywell and Briggs & Stratton.

How much does a generator cost?

It of course depends on the size of the unit and your minimum generator capacity. However, we can help you determine the correct size for your needs and provide a quote free of charge.

Does a natural gas or propane generator cost more to run?

Natural gas generators typically cost less to operate as the cost for natural gas is historically lower than the cost of propane. Natural gas generators do require an existing line to be present which is fed to your home from the local utility.

Do you offer financing on new generator installs?

We do not offer financing directly through us but we do work with Wisetack which is a financing option that can be applied for from within one of our estimates.

How long does a backup generator last?

A propane generator will last until the propane tank runs out of propane unless it is refilled of course beforehand. Natural gas generators however have a direct line from a local utility and can run for as long as needed..

Does a natural gas or propane generator cost more to install?

Natural gas generators are typically more expensive to purchase but do cost less to run than a propane generator.

What fuel does a backup generator for my home use?

In order to determine this, you will need to see if you have a propane tank on the outside of your home or building. If you do not and you currently have a backup generator, chances are it runs on natural gas.
